Trekking
is one of the main attractions
in the Himalayas, the geography and landscape provide with a wide choice,
from easy one day treks to strenuous 21 days of hardcore trekking. One
can choose to be amongst vast and beautiful forests, to high alpine
meadows, or the arid high altitude deserts of Ladakh and Spiti. There
are numerous peaks of different levels of difficulty to be climbed by
the more daring and high altitude adventurer.

Mountain
biking
has only come to this area recently, and the area has proven to be ideal
and exciting. The Manali to Leh route has become a classic amongst mountain
bikers, and each year there are more people challenging the high passes
of this route.

|
Paragliding
in this area will immediately appeal to any paraglider pilot. The long
extending ridges, the amazing conditions, the high cloud base and the
great company of the huge Himalayan griffin vultures have proven for
great cross county flying and some of the best alpine views around.

Fishing
many of the
rivers in Himachal are home to the brown and rainbow trout. The stunning
riverbanks and the mountain tranquility gives days on end of pleasurable
fishing. The fast flowing water of these rivers and streams make the
fish very strong and muscular and always ready to put up a good fight.

Rafting
/ Kayaking the fast flowing
rivers are a great playground for these sports. Also here there are
varying levels, you could raft the smoother waters of the lower Beas,
or face the incredible rapids of the Chandrabhaga or the Parvati River.
There are numerous other rivers like the Indus, the Sutlej, or even
the Ganges for you to challenge. |

Skiing
/ Snowboarding
the winter months generally provide a plentiful snowfall, and if you
like powder, this is the place for you. There are no real ski lifts
around so some walking is involved, but the rides down and the views
are usually well worth the walk. There are also several ski touring
routes for those who are keen.

Rockclimbing
/ Abseiling
there are plenty of rock faces and cliffs set in spectacular surroundings
to give you an exciting day of rock climbing or rappelling.It is also
possible to combine rock climbing & trekking for a real mountain
adventure.
